Saturday night finds me back down at Nambucca yet again. This time I'm here for a last minute gig by Stereo Juggernaut. It's free to get in tonight. but in spite of that the turnout isn't great due to the short notice.  There are supposed to be three bands on the bill, but two of them haven't bothered to turn up - no phone calls to explain their absence or anything.  Losers - that's two more bands probably going on the promoters blacklist of timewasters who won't get booked again.  Some bands don't seem to realise that promoters actually talk to eachother and circulate names of bands who are trouble or timewasting no-shows - then they wonder why no one is interested in booking them. The Karma Police will be on the case of a couple more bands after tonight...

So it's Saturday night, two out of three bands haven't turned up, and there's hardly anybody here. It's also supposed to be the 'End of the World' today - we are all supposed to get 'Ruptured' or something? Of course the end of the world might explain why there's no one here? Maybe it's happened while we've been in Nambucca - and this building and the immediate area is all that's left of the whole planet? No wonder no one else has turned up - they are all dead!

So it looks like Stereo Juggernaut will be the only band playing tonight - then it's noticed that there are three members of Little Pictures present. They are persuaded into getting up and doing a few songs even though it's not the full band. Might as well do something if we are the only people left alive on Earth...

This band's lineup has lost a few members since I saw them down the road at The Gaff a couple of years ago and now they are heading in a more 'rock' direction - I'll have to check the full band out again sometime.

There are actually a few people from Stereo Juggernaut's hardcore fanbase in the house tonight in spite of the short notice. The band give a good performance and make it worth them turning up.

In spite of the sound mix leaving a little to be desired the band are on good form and look to be having fun!

I enjoy seeing Stereo Juggernaut far more tonight than I did at the St Moritz recently, mainly due to Nambucca being a much better venue (and having real ale on tap) rather than the band performing any better - and this time I'm home in under an hour afterwards!
PS: This venue closed in early 2014.
