It's not that often that bands from Barnet play in Camden, but local muso Pete Daval's latest band the Telematics were playing at the Dublin Castle so I figured that was worth a trip down to Camden on a Sunday night. I saw this band at the Hope & Anchor last year and thought they were the best of the several bands I've seen Pete in over the years. Fortunately, they were playing to a bigger crowd tonight. Once again there were technical problems with a guitar - only a broken string this time though. Like last time, it was Pete's Telecaster that had a problem causing him to switch over to his Gibson SG - which sounded better anyway so I don't know why he didn't use it in the first place!  The band played well and their set of Stranglers and Blur influenced indie was very well received by the crowd.

The final band was some acoustic lot from Leeds - Coldplay and Keane have got a lot to answer for.  We adjourned to the front bar... Some amusement was had when someone puked all over the floor just inside the door - not amusing in itself, but the fact that some motormouth in flip-flops then went and stood in the lumpy puddle for a several minutes while talking bollocks at people was Even more amusing was the fact that he remained completely oblivious to what he was standing in - even though he was sliding about in it in his flip-flops! He obviously thought it was just spilt beer he was splashing about in and never thought to look down. We did consider telling him, but he appeared a bit of a gobshite so we let him remain in blissfull ignorance...

Later on, the same mouthy puke-paddler asked me how the juke box worked? He said this country was rubbish as no one 'knew anything' and he was going home to Brazil. He claimed he "knew everything" - apart from how a juke box worked apparently, so he had to ask an ignorant Englishman. He didn't 'know' when he was sliding about in a pool of vomit earlier, so he wasn't that smart...
